parley view parsnip...

My Monday post about what is going on around my home.

Beautiful farm fresh eggs.

Daughter belongs to a CSA group, Community Supported Agriculture.
Although she is a vegan she heard that the eggs from one of the farms were wonderful so she bought me some.
Love his farm name, Josh's Foraging Fowls, Wilcox Arizona

The yoke was a very beautiful orange.
Happy chickens make wonderful eggs.

Removing labels from wine and beer bottles.
You heat them in a 200 degree oven for 15 minutes. The glue melts and you can usually pull the labels off.

Sunday dinner.
Vegetable stirred fried rice, egg, fresh tomatoes, and quick Japanese pickles made that day from small cucumbers.

The Palo Verde trees are in bloom every were in Tucson.
I tried to show the yellow blossoms like a carpet on my drive way.

Looking up at the blooms through the tree.

I just like this photo, wall, clouds and blooming Palo Verde tree,

Square Dogs update, Watson speaks !

Still learning how to use the camera and throw the ball at the same time.

If you wait till the end you will hear Watsons Scottish  brogue.
From when Watson was a puppy to about age 10 he rarely barked. A few barks at the doorbell or when he and Hamish double teamed the Coyote but really it was  a woof here or there was about it. But now that he is a little old man he has quite a bit to say.
Old age has it benefits.
His favorite game is tug which requires no barking !

Wednesday In Japan... Umeboshi

My Wednesday post about my life in Japan...

A lovely friend from Japan sent me the best gift ever, Umeboshi or pickled plums.
If you read this blog you already know my love of pickled vegetables and
umeboshi are my favorite.

Beautiful packaging.

Four different types of umeboshi.
The jar of umeboshi paste is really easy to use when making sushi rolls
and my favorite chicken dish.

four different flavors from spicy, tangy, mild to a sweet one.

These plums are about a 1 1/4 inch big.
They also come in size from the super tiny ones about 1/2 inch to 1 1/4 inches.

Really loved the one on the right, slightly spicy and tangy.
So good to eat along with any meal.

Here is your pretty for the day..

Thank You so much Tomoko and family for the lovely gift, thought and friendship.
I miss you all.

parley view parsnip...

My Monday post about what happening around my home.

The Pima County Court House, Tucson Arizona.
Listed on the National Resister of Historic Places.
Designed by Roy Place in 1928 in the Mission Revival/Spanish Colonial style.

I think this is one of the most beautiful building I have ever seen.
The dome is just amazing.

Phoenix, the capital of our state has a copper dome on the roof of the old Capital building,
which is now a museum. Arizona is the copper state.

As much as I like the look of copper, I think this building is just perfect in style, size and color.
It fits Tucson, Arizona very well.

Beautiful !

I don't care what the Weather Man said or what the Calendar said...
at 2:30 Saturday in Tucson, Arizona it was the first day of summer
because I jumped in my pool.
The temperature on Saturday was a toasty 99.

Palo Verde bloom floating in my pool.
It was so sunny and the reflection off the water blinded me. So I just pointed the camera where I thought the bloom was and clicked.
The camera focused on the waves I was making and not the bloom.
On Sunday the "ice broke" in Tucson and we hit 101.
Thank Goodness it will return to the high 80's by the middle of the week.
It really is too early for this kind of hot weather.

Here is your pretty for the day
One little cloud floating in the Saturday afternoon sky.
Photo was taken from my pool.

water drops on cactus pads

I hope these photo can magnify enough to show you the droplets.
I love the delicate water drop enveloping the very small but so sharp and stinging needles of this cactus.

So happy I'm inside resting in my basket.
I rather like the idea of a corral for The Hamish !

Wednesday In Japan but it is really Tucson again...

Remember this photo from Monday...

Prickly Pear filled with buds and little new pads...

Look at what happened in one day, filled with blooms.

blooms everywhere

look to the right bottom above the three yellow blooms
there are four new fast growing pads

buds and blooms are squishing (technical gardening term) in everywhere

and
thehamish's famous "land shark" photo again, just because it makes me giggle...

parley view parsnip... what happened this weekend.

It is spring in Tucson.
Cactus are blooming !

I see this beautiful cactus every time I drive down my street.
I think this is a Leding's Hedgehog.

All my Prickly Pear has gone crazy this year.

This one pad has 26 blooms.

All the pads are loaded with blooms and new pads.

The blooms are so delicately beautiful, the petals are tissue paper thin.

Such beauty that can rival any rose.
Plus the needles that are modified leaves, are sharper than a roses thorns.

Can you find the real bunny who came for carrots and tea ?

Hamish  keeps trying to mush his way into the basket when Watson is napping.
I try to keep him out but Sunday morning he wiggled in before I could stop him.

It is hard to say no when he nestles in so sweetly.

Watson is such a sweet dog with a gentle soul.
I can never get a true photo of him but this one comes close.
I love this dog.
